Three Ingredient High Protein Chocolate Pancakes

These high protein, low sugar, chocolate pancakes only have 3 ingredients! It's based on a very simple recipe for pancakes, that's well known in the health & fitness community, although saying that, it was one I heard about only mere months ago! I just couldn't believe how simple these pancakes are to make relative to traditional pancake recipes. 

I decided to modify them ever so slightly to make it more to my taste...  OK, fine, I wanted to make them chocolatey tasting because I love chocolate and the idea of being able to justify it as my pre-workout breakfast sounded like a great idea to me!

 Serves: 2

Based on a diet of
2000 calories a day

All you'll need is 1 medium banana, 2 eggs and 2 tsp of cocoa powder.


1. Pre heat a medium sized frying pan and spray it with a low-cal cooking spray like Fry-Light.

2. Crack two eggs and add these, along with the banana and cocoa powder to a blender. Blend for about 1 minute or until the mixture is really smooth.

3. Pour the mixture into the frying pan, keeping it on a low to medium heat. Don't be tempted to flip the pancake too soon - it will go all over you! Instead let it 'firm up' a bit, to the point where it isn't runny on the top and can be easily flipped over using a plastic turner, without dripping all over the place.

4. Once cooked to your liking on both sides, feel free to top it with something tasty if you wish. I like to use Choc Shot sauce and Whey Hey Ice Cream. Frozen yoghurt, fruit and fruit compote are also delicious options!
