Salonpas: A Medicated Patch For Your Sports Injuries!

Don't you just hate it when you've injured yourself training and then have to rest for days or maybe even weeks until the pain subsides and you heal again. If that's not bad enough then sports injuries make your daily life harder, forcing you to pop pain pills every few hours just to get through your chores.

Personally I'm not a fan of popping pain pills - the strong ones can have loads of side effects. So I was pretty pleased to discover Salonpas's medicated patch.
Salonpas patches last up to 12 hours and can be worn day or night. They work by delivering the active medical ingredients directly through your skin immediately to the affected area rather than simply warming the area up like many other sports injuries plaster and patches on shelves. You can expect the pain relief to kick in within 1 hour of applying.

You apply the patch to the affected area, such as a bruise, sprain or ache (but not an open wound!) in the same way you would a regular plaster. You can also cut the patch to the size you want as the medicine is contained in the adhesive side of the patch (don't worry, it won't leak onto your clothes!)

The patch is really thin and stretchy so it can be worn discreetly and won't fall off if you stick it on one of your joints. Which is brilliant if you're anything like me a frequently injuring your wrists and knees during your workouts. The patches do have quite a strong 'medical' smell, but I find you get used to this quickly and the pain relief makes it a good trade off!

As advised on the box, if the pain persists after 3 days, visit your doctor to check that all is well. Also remember to rest the affected area too, as even if the patch takes all the pain away while you're wearing it, you'll still need to allow the muscle to repair.

You can buy a box of Salonpas patches to pop in your gym bag online at Boots for £4.99 (for a box of three), Ocado and The Heathcounter and also in store at Superdrug, Lloyds Pharmacy, Rowlands and Day Lewis.

received a free sample of the product  for the purpose of review but was not compensated in any other way. As always, opinions are my own!
