Ainsley Harriott Cup Soups - The Perfect Low-Cal Winter Warmer

'Tis the season when you most need a warm lunch - but before you rush off the the nearest fast food outlet or the pub in your lunch break, consider taking a packet of flavoursome low-calorie cup-soup to make fresh in the office kitchen.
There's loads of flavours to choose from to suit all taste palettes and they range from just 84 calories to 110 per cup and none of the soups in the Ainsley Harriott range contain any artificial flavours or preservatives.

Simply empty a sachet (there's 4 in each box!) into a cup, boil the kettle, fill the cup and stir! All the speediness of fast food, but at a tiny fraction of the calories and fat. Oh, and these actually look like the picture on the box - now you can't say that about fast food!

My family taste-tested 6 of the many soups - the winning flavour for them was the Italian Style Minestrone, a mild, creamy flavour. The other flavours we tested included the very rich and cheesy Cauliflower Cheese; the crunchy-textured New England Style Vegetable Chowder and the three hot and spicy flavours, East Indian Mulligatawny; Tuscan Tomato with Mozzarella &Chilli and the Bombay Potato, Pea & Spinach.

For me the Bombay Potato, Pea & Spinach was a winner - based on it's fragrant smell alone, as it reminded me of my all-time favour blend of Tikka spice (Coriander, Cinnamon, Garlic, Cardamom, Cumin, Black Pepper, Ginger, Tumeric, Cayenne Pepper and Clove). As someone who gets very excited by herbs and spices (it's a foodie thing!) I would recommend this one to warm up your tummies and taste buds - guilt free!

received a winter hamper containing samples of the cup soups for the purpose of review but was not compensated in any other way. As always, opinions are my own!
